Wintertime Projects and Future Developments

Hello Friends,

I hope you have all had a great finish to the 2014 growing season! This weekend is our last farmer’s market (we only have eggs, sweet potatoes, and baked goods to sell!). Even with this season closing, I am already getting the itch to start working on the plans for this next season. I am grateful for that spring farming itch . . . mankind would have probably starved a few generations after Adam without it.

house (2)Since the conference we held in August we have been busy with things around the farm, but the main focus that is taking up much of my time is building my family’s house. Thus the lack of posts in the last few months. We are close enough to be able to see the possibility of a move-in date in the not too distant future. Thus we are trying hard to push until the end of the year to see how much we can get done before farming season hits. Pray for God’s blessing on our work. Unless the Lord builds the house . . .

With regards to next year, I am pleased to announce that the Lord has led us to partner with Foundations for Farming to set up Rora Valley Farms (my farm) as the first USA Training Station for Foundations for Farming. That means that we will be setting up our farm as a model to be used for training in gardening, homesteading, and farming all based in a love for Jesus. We will be customizing the Foundations for Farming curriculum for applicability in the US and classes will be designed for backyard producers, homesteaders, commercial growers, and those in ministry or missions wanting training in agriculture. foundationslogoStay tuned for details and dates for our 2015 trainings and pray for us as we work on setting up the different aspects of our station.

We are working slowly but surely on making available the videos from the Redeeming the Dirt conference. Many of you have asked about the second part of Mr. Brian’s first talk that we made available earlier. It is coming! I will let you know as soon as it is out. In the meantime, enjoy this talk by Mr. Jack Dody.

  1. It’s great to hear from you again Mr. Sanders!
What exciting news about your partnership with Foundations for Farming!
I look forward to hearing more about the project as you have time to write and will keep it in prayer.
May God bless you and your family in the coming year.

  2. Noah:
Glad to see you back in the blog, but fully understand the reason for your absence. Praise God that you have been able to move your house construction forward. Soon, you and your bride, with God’s help, will transform a house into a home.
I’d be interested in promoting the next Redeeming the Dirt conference in our magazine, so if you’d like to drop me a line, I can give you my phone number and we can discuss. Our next issue is coming out in February.

    Blessings,
